The Tale of the Three E's

"Wagon trails and horse tails." Eris said with a grin, half-hanging outside of our canvas-covered wagon.
"As for the cowboys," Eros aimed his pistol and opened his eye after a quick squint, "maybe I'll missum on purpose."
"We're almost at a song kids." The Earthly man said with a smile. "You are definitely my kids."
"Hey there's Echo, too!" They chirped at me together.
"I had almost forgot there is actually three of you."
"Maybe he will hear us, if we sing." Eros laughed, "Or maybe he should wait with the sound of me."
"I can fix any flat or sharp you shake. I'll tear around it and make that melody quake."
Earth smiled at his kids, then up the sky.
"Honey, I know we are truly one being, but I miss you like pie."
    "Me, too!" Eris said.
    "Me three." Erose added in.
There was a cool breeze from above that whisper, "Four is watchin'."

As we rode into town on an overly sunny day, my mind went to what I would feed my children, and a man strayed our way.
I said with a grin, "Howdy, Sir. Fine day."
He replied, "I don't like you. Get! Get away."
"You need not tell me twice. Farewell, then."
He growled under his breath, "Never come near me, again."
"Understood." I said and strode to my kids.
Eris stood staring, "Look at that fancy gun of his."
"How much for the girl?" He said with a dirty grin.
"Never is my daughter for sale." My words and head snapped in his direction.
I walked back over his way.
"Sir, I could not have been gentler. My talk and walk as meek as can be."
    I kept walking.
"But you INSIST on antagonizing me. If it's due to wanting a duel, then come on! Let's see!"
I kicked his cup away and he bent back hissing.
"Damn you that do not fear me." His blank, round green-yellow eyes fearfully frightening, and hand shaking for his gun.
